Base Rates
Sarver, Pennsylvania - In order to improve the safety and reliability of the natural gas distribution system, Herman Riemer Gas Company today asked the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) for a 77.49 percent increase in base rates.
Under the proposal, Herman Riemer Gas Company will increase rates by $405,202 or 77.49 percent. As proposed, the bill for an average residential customer using 6.25 Mcf of natural gas a month will increase from $61 to $108 a month.
The proposed increases are needed to continue to provide safe and reliable service, maintain the integrity of existing capital, attract additional capital at reasonable rates and have a reasonable opportunity to earn a fair rate of return on its property used and useful in rendering gas service to the public.
Herman Riemer Gas Company provides natural gas service to 643 customers in Butler County.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, BUTLER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AUTHORIZING THE INCURRING OF NONELECTORAL DEBT FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING PRIOR DEBT AND PAYING THE COSTS OF ISSUANCE, BY THE ISSUANCE OF A GENERAL OBLIGATION REFUNDING BOND IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $160,000 (THE 2012A BOND) AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A ROADS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND PAYING THE COSTS OF ISSUANCE, BY THE ISSUANCE OF A GENERAL OBLIGATION NOTE IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $340,000 (THE 2012A NOTE AND, TOGETHER WITH THE 2012A BOND, THE 2012 OBLIGATIONS).
In compliance with the Local Government Unit Debt Act, the following is the bid price and interest rates of the General Obligation Refunding Bond, Series A of 2012, and the General Obligation Note, Series A of 2012, to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of $500,000:
The Purchase Price of the General Obligation Refunding Bond, Series A of 2012, is $160,000, being par, and the interest rate is 3.20% throughout the term until the date of final maturity on June 20, 2022.
The Purchase Price of the General Obligation Note, Series A of 2012, is $340,000, being par, and the interest rate is 3.23% throughout the term until the date of final maturity on December 20, 2022.
In compliance with the Local Government Unit Debt Act, the substance of amendments made, upon final passage of Ordinance No. 12 - 05, were as follows:
(1) The aggregate principal amount of the general obligations to be issued were established at $160,000 for the 2012A Bond and $340,000 for the 2012A Note, and being designated together as the 2012 Obligations.
(2) The maturities, interest rates and redemption features of the 2012 Obligations were determined.
(3) The debt service schedules were incorporated.
(4) The forms of the 2012A Bond and 2012A Note were incorporated.

The proposed Township of Cranberry Ordinance No.___ would amend Chapter 17 (Public & Private Improvements Code) of the Township Code of Ordinances, by updating and amending the specifications for water lines related to meter valves, curb boxes, domestic water meter installation and backflow preventers, modifying the controller unit specification for traffic signals, adding details for traffic signal pennants order form, revising the details for thermal coil meter pit, standard residential meter and standard non-residential meter and adding an appendix for road maintenance agreement. The proposed ordinance also adds a definition, construction standards and details for bicycle facilities. The proposed ordinance also provides for severability and repeal of prior inconsistent ordinances.

Pursuant to the Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act, and the Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that Glacial Sand and Gravel Co., P.O. Box 1022, Kittanning, PA 16201, has made application to the Department of Environmental Protection to revised the existing SMP # 10070304 for a variance within the 100' barrier of the outside right-of-way for support and mining activities along the east side of Swope Road (T 382) beginning at the intersection with West Liberty Road (1-860) and extending north 750' in Worth Township, Butler County. Known as Mine 47 the permit is located East of Mount Union Road (T-861) beginning at the intersection with West Liberty Road (T¬860) and proceeding south for 1700'. South of West Liberty Road from the intersection with Mt Union Road to Moore Road (T-396), the west side of Moore Road extending south 900'. The permit also extends 800' east on the North side of West Liberty Road (T-860) from the intersection of Swope Road (T-382) and north for 750'from the intersection with West Liberty Road (1-860 and Swope Road (T-382). The Slippery Rock PA US Geological Survey 7.5 minute topographic map contains the areas described.
