Don’t drill near school

More name-calling

Regarding “County may make layoffs” (April 3, page 1), look who is calling someone a jerk. Whenever Commissioner Bill McCarrier says something, his twin Dale Pinkerton agrees. Before those two are done, they will hire a company to sell Butler.

Taekwondo fundraiser

On March 24, a very special event took place at the Clearview Mall. Students and staff from Master Connell’s ATA Taekwondo School participated in a kick-a-thon. They raised more than $5,000 for the American Cancer Society. The children performed 13,399 kicks and students and staff broke 70 wooden boards.

Wage not state’s affair

Recently we received a brochure from Tom Wolf, Democratic candidate for governor, stating Wolf will raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour if elected. Another Democratic candidate, Rob McCord, pledges to raise it to $10.75.
