Marvin L. Martin, 79, of Cranberry Township passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, while under the care of Paramount Senior Living.
Born Jan. 4, 1941, in Tulsa, Okla., he was the son of the late Woodrow W. Martin and Mary F. (Brooks) Martin.
Marvin was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and served for five years, from 1959 until 1965.
He was employed as a train dispatcher by Conrail, and retired at the age of 62.
He greatly enjoyed playing both indoor and outdoor soccer, and loved playing goalie. He played for the Willies Tavern soccer team, which won the Beaver County Cup. He passed on his love and skill of the game to his son and to friends. Marvin will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Cynthia D. Martin of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Renee Martin of East Rutherford, N.J., Christine (Corey) Wilson of Zelienople, and Gary M. Martin of Cranberry Township; his grandchildren, Ashton, Maria, Madison, Abigail and Ella Wilson; his sister, Virginia Dees of Fayetteville, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Donna L. (Zuck) Martin, who passed away on Dec. 26, 2013; his sister, Phyllis Daiker; and his brother, Gary W. Martin.
MARVIN — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitation and services for Marvin L. Martin, who died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, will be held privately by the family.
Marvin will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
