Aug. 26 — Joshua J. Wiolland, 37, of Mars was charged with bouncing a $919 check for auto repair work at a Route 8 business in July. He passed the check July 22 at Route 8 Auto Service.
On Aug. 22, the business owner sent the defendant a certified letter requesting payment, but he got no response, according to court documents. Wiolland is charged with theft of services and bad checks.
Penn Twp Police
10:46 p.m. Aug. 18 — Tracy L. Frey, 49, of Bakerstown, Allegheny County was arrested for drunken driving after police were called for a car with a front tire smoking on the 700 block of Route 8. Police said they found Frey, barefoot, standing by the driver's side door of the car.
Police later learned that the defendant had been driving her car with the left front wheel on its rim before stopping.
During the investigation, an officer allegedly noticed an open bottle of vodka in the car.
She is charged with driving under the influence, driving with an open container of alcohol and driving an unregistered vehicle.
