Margaret M. Melgaard, age 93, formerly of McCandless Township, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, while under the care of Grace Manor at North Park. Born Dec. 27, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Andress and Elizabeth Parnay Andress. Margaret was a former member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Hampton Township. She was a passionate seamstress and loved sewing. Margaret also enjoyed crafting and gardening flowers. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Peggy L. Hespenheide, of Cranberry Township, and Pam J. (John) McGorry, of Southport, N.C.; her grandchildren, Jay and Steve Hespenheide and Matt McGorry; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Hespenheide; and her sister, Jean (Tom) Lenhart of Illinois. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, O. Robert Melgaard, who passed away in 1987; and her sister, Elizabeth Dewey.
MELGAARD — Due to public health concerns, a private service and burial for Margaret M. Melgaard, who died Friday, May 15, 2020, was held at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township on Monday, May 18, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
