William J. Knebel, 81, of Cranberry Township passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at St. Barnabas Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 28, 1938, in Norfolk, Neb., he was the son of the late Ernest H. Knebel and Elna K. Sasse Knebel.
Bill earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University and went on to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He retired from Calgon Carbon in 1994 after working as a scientist and chemical engineer for many years.
Bill was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township.
He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Gregory Knebel and his wife, Kimberley, of Cranberry Township, and Steven Knebel of Cranberry Township; his grandchildren, Shaelin Gregory, Olivia Tourlas and Eli Knebel; his great-granddaughter, Blake Gregory; and his brother, Donald Knebel of O'Neill, Neb.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Knebel (Kasselder), who passed away on Oct. 4, 1999.
KNEBEL — A private viewing and service for William J. Knebel, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020,will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
Bill will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
