12:40 p.m. Feb. 2 — No one was injured in a rear-end crash at Route 228 and Mars-Evans City Road. The collision occurred at a red light. Police did not immediately release the drivers’ names.
9 a.m. Sunday — Snow was blamed for a one-vehicle accident on Mars-Evans City Road near Mars Lumber. The driver, a 23-year-old Cranberry Township man, lost control of his car and struck a mailbox before traveling over a hillside and ending near a creek bed.
The man was not injured. Police did not immediately release his name. His car had to be towed up the hillside, but once back on the road he was able to drive it away, police said.
Jan. 22 — Gerad S. Bennett, 35, of Middlesex Township was arrested on charges he forged a check, which belonged to a township woman, for $220 that he passed onto another man Dec. 17 for payment to replace a car windshield.
Bennett was arraigned on a felony charge of forgery and a misdemeanor charge of theft by deception. He was later released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
