North girls place 9th in cross country meet

North Catholic's girls placed ninth at the PIAA Class A Cross Country Championships, held Saturday in Hershey.

The Trojanettes were led by freshman Julia Zalenski, who placed eighth overall.

Cranberry Township resident and Vincentian Academy junior Tara Lucot was 35th out of 209 runners to help the Royals place 11th as a team.

In Class 3A, Seneca Valley placed eighth and received a 42nd-place effort from junior Bailey Royhab.

In the boys competition, Mars senior Zach Leachman was 19th in the Class 3A race.

Seneca Valley freshman Eli Dewitt paced the Raiders to 18th in the team standings.
