SV Class of 1979 slates 40th reunion

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley High School Class of 1979 will celebrate its 40th class reunion in October.

The event is scheduled for 6 to 11 p.m. Oct. 5 at Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer Street in Harmony.

Tickets are $45 per person, or $25 for a no-dinner option. The buffet dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and features beef, chicken, orange roughy, salad, green beans, roasted potatoes and cake. The ticket also includes mixed drinks, wine, beer, soda and water. There is a $25 walk-in charge after dinner.

A DJ will provide entertainment. Spouses and plus ones are welcome for the casual-dress event.

Library will host apiary discussion

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, hosts the Cranberry Township Community Apiary presented by Mason Miller at 6 p.m. Sept. 19.

Cranberry's Pollinator Garden is designed to be a community resource for education about pollination and beekeeping. A part of Cranberry Highlands' Audubon Sanctuary certification program, the garden provides a bee-friendly habitat adjacent to the municipal golf course for honey beehive placement and instruction.

Attendees will learn how to become involved with the apiary, including how to become a bee keeper or sponsor.
