CRANBERRY TWP — A pickup truck traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike through Cranberry Township last week reportedly left the road, coming to rest on a soccer field in Graham Park.
The crash was reported around 9 a.m. July 30.
According to Sgt. William Ahlgren of the Cranberry Township Police Department, the pickup truck was traveling along the Turnpike when it went off the side of the road and through a chain-link fence.
It left a visible chain of debris from the road on soccer field E in the park, coming to a stop near a concession stand.
Crews from Cranberry Township police, fire and EMS as well as state police were at the scene. Medical teams were seen tending to one person, and Ahlgren said only minor injuries were reported.
Ahlgren said the field was not occupied at the time of the crash, and the nearby trail that runs through the area was not busy when the crash occurred. Children playing on soccer fields just south of the crash scene were unaffected by the incident, and pedestrians continued to pass through via the walking trail.
