Rodeo Queen contest slated

NORTH WASHINGTON — The 2019 North Washington Rodeo Queen contest will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rodeo Grounds on Oneida Valley Road.

The applicant chosen to be the North Washington Rodeo Queen will have the opportunity to promote the rodeo through various events in and around Butler County during the months leading up to the rodeo.

The North Washington Rodeo will take place Aug. 13-17 at the North Washington Rodeo Grounds.

Dark sky star party set at observatory

FRAZER TWP — An April dark sky star party, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, will begin at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton.
