EVANS CITY — Police have arrested a borough man for allegedly assaulting and strangling a woman at an Evans City residence Thursday.

Evans City/Seven Fields Regional Police reported that the woman came to the police station and said Noah Christopher Vinroe, 26, of Evans City had attacked her, hitting and scratching her before he grabbed her by the neck with both hands, cutting off her air supply.

Officers noted “a number of injuries to her head, neck and shoulder areas from the physical assault and strangulation,” police documents state.

Police investigated the claims and arrested Vinroe the next day.

He is charged with assault and strangulation, and was in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday.
