Friends of Rachel event attended

ADAMS TWP — Several members of Mars High School’s Friends of Rachel Club attended the Western Pennsylvania Regional FOR Club Program on Dec. 10 at World Vision — Pittsburgh in Sewickley

The event brought together students from several local school districts to share ideas for fostering a permanent culture of kindness and compassion on their campus.

The FOR Club is an extension of the “Rachel’s Challenge” program, which is based on the life and writings of Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim of the Columbine High School tragedy. The program works to equip and inspire individuals to replace acts of violence, bullying and negativity with acts of respect, kindness and compassion and, in turn, to promote a safer, more connected school community.
