Mars Bank VP finishes program

Shawn Proper, senior vice president mortgage and consumer lending at Mars Bank, recently graduated from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Leadership Institute.

A 15-month program, the Leadership Institute features a participation-based curriculum that is applicable to work situations and long-term professional growth.

“This program gives its participants a fresh approach and intensive exposure to idea and strategies surrounding leadership, culture, employee engagement and communication,” said James Dionise, Mars Bank president and chief executive officer. “Shawn exemplifies the type of leadership that Mars Bank encourages, and this program further developed and expanded his capabilities and skill set.”

Proper oversees the mortgage and consumer loan department at Mars Bank. He also manages the bank’s First Time Homeowner and veterans mortgage programs.

Proper previously graduated from the PA Bankers School of Banking and Advanced School of Banking. He also graduated from all three levels of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s School of Mortgage Banking.
