Mars grad Williams nets 3 goals for GCC

GROVE CITY — Mars High School graduate Maggie Williams, a freshman forward for the Grove City College women’s soccer team, scored her first collegiate hat trick Wednesday in the Wolverines’ 6-0 win over Thiel.

Williams scored her three goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. Her first tally was 36 seconds into the contest.

She leads Grove City with 10 goals this season.

NC girls soccer bows to Freeport

North Catholic’s girls soccer team saw its season come to an end Saturday with a 3-0 loss to Freeport in the first round of the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs.

The game was played at the Mars Athletic Complex.

The Trojanettes finished 9-6-1.

Introduction to Swim team at SV

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Swim Club is putting together an Introduction to Swim Team group.

There will be no meets or competitions for this group. The program will focus on stroke development, swimming terminology and rules, building strength and endurance.

The program runs from 6 to 6:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through March 27, at the Intermediate High School Pool. Monthly rate is $90.

Dodgeball tourney slated next month

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a co-ed dodgeball tournament Nov. 3 at the Butler Township dek hockey rink.

Every player must fill out a medical waiver to play. Team registrations may be submitted at the Alameda Park office.
