Two people were injured when a tractor trailer crashed into an ambulance, causing it to collide with a third vehicle on I-79 Monday morning.

LANCASTER TWP — An EMT was injured when a tractor trailer rear-ended an ambulance Monday morning on Interstate 79, while the emergency vehicle was responding to a separate crash on the highway.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. at mile marker 88 on I-79, according to emergency dispatch logs. The ambulance was on its way to a crash at mile marker 90 on I-79 when congestion along the road caused traffic to slow down, and resulted in the tractor-trailer rear-ending the ambulance.

The ambulance driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
