Football teams hit stretch run

Local football teams will play in Week 7 games Friday.

In Northern Seven Conference play, Seneca Valley (1-5, 1-3) will face rival North Allegheny (5-2, 3-1) at 7:30 p.m. at NexTier Stadium.

Mars (4-3, 3-2) will host a Northwest Nine Conference game against Ambridge (0-7, 0-6) at 7 p.m.

The winner of a Midwestern Conference showdown between Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (5-2, 4-0) and Riverside (5-1, 5-0) will have the inside track to win the conference title. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Stone Field in North Park.

Hoops training sessions on tap

SV Raider TIME Basketball Training Sessions Game-On has announced its fall schedule.

The sessions are available for boys and girls in grades 3-8 with advanced players wanted. Sessions are from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 14, 21 and 28; 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Oct. 16 and Nov. 6 at the Seneca Valley High School gym.

SV hosting girls hoop clinics

The Seneca Valley girls basketball program is offering its Little Dribblers, In-House and Travel program to prospective players.

The Little Dribblers program introduces fundamentals of basketball to girls in kindergarten through second grade. Fee is $50 and the program takes place on Saturday afternoons in January.

The In-House and Travel program costs $90 and also takes place at Haine Middle School. An in-house coaching clinic takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 30 in the SV High School gym.
