CRANBERRY TWP — A man was shot around 7:30 p.m. Monday at his residence on Marshall Road.

Nicholas Kotula, the man's neighbor who lives next door on Marshall Road, said he heard a gunshot and then a man screaming. He ran to his neighbor's yard in time to see a silver Kia sedan with black-tinted windows speeding away.

“They were flying,” Kotula said.

Kotula said the man, who is unidentified, was shot in the arm but was conscious and alert.

Another man came out of the house on Marshall Road. Kotula said that man told him they had been selling jewelry to finance moving expenses, and Kotula said he had seen a moving truck at the house Sunday.

Kotula said the man told him that three African American males came to the house, and one was using the bathroom when he came out of the room and started shooting.

Kotula said a child who is the daughter of the wounded man's girlfriend was home at the time of the shooting.

“The kid was there,” Kotula said. “The kid saw the whole thing.”

He also said that the girlfriend was not home at the time of the incident.

Cranberry Township police were on scene, and the wounded man was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

The shooter fled the scene, and an alert was issued to county police units to watch for three African American males in a silver Kia sedan.

Kotula said the street on which he lives is usually quiet.

“It's unusual, considering I moved to this neighborhood to get away from all that madness,” he said.
