The 5th annual Mars Area Public Library 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Walk will begin at 9 a.m. May 13 at the Treesdale Community Center.
Registration begins at 8 a.m.
A $20 entry fee, which is tax-deductible, will allow participants to compete for race rewards in many categories.
Registration can also be done at www.active.com or by mailing in an application that is available at the library or by visiting www.marsarealibrary.org.
All proceeds from the event will be used for the various library programs that are offered to all members.
The Seneca Valley Girls Volleyball Boosters are sponsoring a camp June 12-15 for girls entering fourth through eighth grade.
The camp will be at Haine Middle School. The grades 4-6 camp runs from 9 to 11 a.m., the grades 7-8 camp from noon to 2 p.m. Seneca Valley High School coaches and returning players will run the camp.

PENN TWP — The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau is announcing the fourth annual Butler County Bankers Golf Challenge, set for June 23 at Butler Country Club.
Banks and credit unions are invited to participate with two teams of four. Each team may consist of two bank employees and two guests.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to a Butler County charity of the winning team’s choice. Cost is $1,000 per bank which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., golfing at 9 a.m.
The Kids’ Weekend Backpack Program will be the beneficiary of the Butler BlueSox Buck-A-Hit charitable fundraising campaign.
The BlueSox donate one dollar to the designated charity each year for every hit the team produces, home and away. Other local businesses and individuals may join the campaign as well.
Last year, the ballclub and its roster of 13 participants raised $7,476 for the Ellen O’Brien Gaiser Addiction Center.
