SOCIAL MEDIA Cranberry wins award from supervisors’ group
CRANBERRY TWP — The township was recently named the winner of the Social Media category of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors’ 44th annual Township Citizen Communication Contest. The annual contest recognizes townships that have successfully communicated programs and activities to their residents. Cranberry Township placed first in the inaugural year of the Social Media category for its Facebook and Twitter pages and its YouTube Channel. All entries were judged on the usefulness of the information presented and how well the information was communicated to the residents. “This recognition ... is another validation of our township’s commitment to use all forms of communications to better serve our residents and businesses,” said Bruce Mazzoni, supervisors’ chairman, in a release. “The use of social media has become a major component of our overall communications strategy.” Judges for the contest included members of the association’s Publications, Public Relations Committee, representatives from the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services, and staff members of the Pennsylvania Township News, the association’s award-winning monthly magazine.
