Alexis Summers

Cranberry My niece was the 17 year that was tragicly killed in the car accident last week. the media has made her the poster child for texting while driving and we as her family dispute those claims. She was an advocate for NOT doing that and if you would ask any of her friends or family she would even stop them from doing it while in their car. she was known for coming home and sitting in the driveway for 10-15 minutes just awnsering the texts she had recieved while driving. The man that witnessed the accident and called 911 even disputes her texting. how do they know she didnt start to write the text in her boyfriends driveway(where she was coming from) realize the time put the phone down to finish later. Only God knows and unfortunatly the end result is the same. I know people will read this and think a grieving family in denial...but thats not the case. we want Alex to be remember for more than (possable) texting and driving
Alexis was as beautiful on the inside as the out. She was a christian and a follower of Jesus Christ...that knowledge gives us, her family peace to know she is in heaven. I want people to Remember Alex as a kind, loving friend to all. At her memorial service kids, parents and teachers stood to tell amamzing stories about her acts of kindness, her warm inviting smile and they were going to start trying to live and do things as Alex would. If we could all be like that wouldnt the world be a better place.
I know Alex is smiling down on all of us as we have all pulled together as a community, kissed our children one extra time and said a little prayer for her family. Her Parents faith is strong and thru the grace of God i know they will will turn Alex's death into a positive message.
