FORWARD TWP — State police charged a man with several offenses after he allegedly fired three shots from an AK-47 rifle during a confrontation with two men who came to repossess his mother's car. Kirk Watson, 27, allegedly fired three rounds into the ground after telling the two men to leave his property, according to state police public information officer Trooper Ronald Kesten. The two men, who Kesten couldn't identify, came to the property on Margaret Road to repossess Watson's mother's car about 2 p.m. Aug. 24. The property is close to Forward Township's border with Evans City. According to police, Watson told them sternly to leave and retrieved his automatic weapon. The two men fled and quickly summoned police after they said Watson fired the rounds into the ground. They charged Watson with making terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. They also charged him with several drug-related charges after a search of the house produced a small amount of marijuana and a pipe. State police Trooper Omar Shankle is investigating the case. No preliminary hearing has been set yet.
