CRANBERRY TWP — A woman involved in a car accident Monday morning on Route 19 died after being taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Jennifer Fox, 27, of Zelienople died of head injuries at 4:32 p.m. Monday, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.
Fox was driving a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta north on Route 19 just after 8 a.m. Monday morning when she struck a stopped box truck from behind near the intersection with Rowan Road.
According to news reports, the driver of the box truck didn't realize Fox had rear-ended his truck and actually dragged the vehicle more than 70 feet down Route 19 before stopping to check his vehicle.
The accident closed two lanes of northbound traffic on Route 19 as fire departments from around the area responded to the scene.
Fox was taken by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh where she died.
The driver of the box truck, Scott Dewberry of Pittsburgh, was uninjured and will not be charged.
Cranberry police plan to conduct an accident reconstruction at the scene Sunday morning. A portion of Route 19 northbound will be closed to drivers.
