Callery man charged with DUI for 8th time

CALLERY — A borough man has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol for the eighth time following a traffic stop on Evans City Road.

The arrest also marked the 15th time Kenneth Francis Stefanowicz, 48, has been charged with driving with a suspended license.
Stefanowicz was charged with driving under influence of alcohol as a habitual offender, careless driving and a traffic violation.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 31 before District Judge Wayne Seibel.
According to Callery Police, a patrol officer stopped Stefanowicz at 3:50 p.m. Aug. 3 after the officer witnessed his vehicle cross the center line and the fog line several times.
Police discovered that Stefanowicz was previously convicted of DUI seven times and been previously charged with driving under suspension 14 times.
His driver's license is currently under suspension for a DUI related conviction, police said.
Stefanowicz admitted to police he drank four beers, police said. He was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test.
