VALENCIA — The owner of C.A. Franc Construction pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to violating safety rules on a job site where one of his employees died in a fall from a roof, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Pittsburgh.
Christopher Franc, 44, of Monks Road pleaded guilty to one count of willful violation of U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations for not making his employees wear safety harnesses at a North Strabane, Washington County, work site.
Carl Beck, 29, of Butler fell from the steep roof of Country Inn and Suites on Aug. 15 and was later pronounced dead at Canonsburg General Hospital.
The Washington County coroner's office ruled the death accidental.
Franc is scheduled to be sentenced on June 18 and faces up to six months in jail and a $250,000 fine.
