CONNOQUENESSING TWP — A farmworker was injured Thursday afternoon when a greenhouse collapsed and trapped him.

John Elder, 35, was working on Gary Brenckle's farm at 322 Shannon Road, using a broom to remove snow from the top of a small greenhouse when the structure collapsed.
Brenckle, his son, Gary Jr., and worker Josh Mato, ran to help after Elder called them with his cell phone, saying he was trapped and hurt.
Brenckle said he and his son lifted the greenhouse bracing with their backs, while Mato pulled Elder out.
Mato said Elder's right leg looked twisted and that Elder was "in a lot of pain."
Township volunteer firefighters and a Butler Ambulance Service crew helped to stabilize Elder.
No further information on his condition was available.

"We just haven't had snow like this in a long time," Brenckle said of the nearly 2 feet that has fallen since Feb. 6. "We need the sun to come out and melt some of this."
During the weekend storm, Soergel Orchards, a farm market and garden center in Wexford, had four greenhouses collapse under the weight of the snow.
Damage there was estimated at more than $200,000.
