Cranberry Lions Club honors SV students

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Township Lions Club had its first of two SEI nights during its bi-monthly club meeting on Jan. 26.
SEI signifies Service, Effort and Initiative. King Lion Mike Doerfler opened the meeting by welcoming student guests and their families.
Doerfler, along with former King Lion and recent Melvin Jones Fellow Award winner Clyde Cameron, gave a brief overview of the mission of Lions' Clubs.
Seneca Valley Middle School students Jenna Stengel, Alex Taylor and Nataleigh Kerr each were presented with a certificate of recognition and a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
The three students were named Students of the Month respectively for October, November and December. The award winners were accompanied by their parents and family members. Middle school guidance counselor Dave Smolinski shared a summary of each student's accomplishments, both in and out of the classroom.
The Cranberry Township Area Lions Club welcomes anyone interested in becoming a member. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Uno's Chicago Grill Restaurant, 1294 Freedom Road.
For more information on membership, call Tim Roscoe, club secretary, at 724-538-1008.
